Metal Gratings
Our Heavy-Duty Metal Gratings are engineered to provide a safe, durable, and reliable solution for covering trenches, drains, pits, and platforms in demanding industrial, commercial, and municipal environments. Manufactured as robust, single-piece castings, these gratings offer superior structural integrity compared to fabricated or welded alternatives. The absence of welds eliminates weak points that can be susceptible to failure and corrosion, ensuring a longer and more reliable service life.
Crafted from high-grade Grey Cast Iron for excellent compressive strength and durability, we also offer gratings in Ductile (SG) Iron for applications requiring superior load-bearing capacity and high impact resistance. Designed with safety and functionality as top priorities, our gratings provide a secure surface for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic while allowing for the efficient passage of water, air, and light. They are the ideal choice for environments where strength, longevity, and low maintenance are non-negotiable.
- Standard: Grey Cast Iron (Grade FG 200 / FG 250 as per IS 210).
- High-Strength: Ductile (Spheroidal Graphite) Iron (as per IS 1865) for high-impact or extra heavy-duty loads.
- Designed to meet the performance requirements of various load classes as specified in standards like BS EN 124.
- Class B125: For car parks, pedestrian areas, and areas with occasional light vehicle traffic.
- Class C250: For kerbside areas, road shoulders, and parking lots.
- Class D400: For main carriageways of roads, highways, and hard shoulders used by all types of road vehicles.
- Higher load classes (E600, F900) are available in Ductile Iron for specialized applications like ports and airports.
Standard: Black Bitumen Paint.Â
Optional: Hot-Dip Galvanizing, or Epoxy paint for specific corrosive environments.
Key Features
Monolithic Construction: Cast as a single, solid piece, providing exceptional strength and eliminating the risk of weld failures.
High Load-Bearing Capacity: Engineered to withstand specific load classes, from pedestrian traffic to heavy-duty industrial vehicles.
Superior Durability: The inherent properties of cast and ductile iron offer excellent resistance to wear, abrasion, and long-term fatigue.
Enhanced Safety: Can be designed with a raised, serrated, or ribbed anti-slip surface to maximize grip in wet or oily conditions.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Cast iron offers natural resistance to corrosion, which is further enhanced by protective coatings.
Low Maintenance Solution: Requires minimal upkeep, providing a low total cost of ownership compared to fabricated steel gratings.
